Re-modeling (An amalgamation) of two apartments into one within
an existing concrete structure. The overall concept was to create
a modern contemporary designed home with colorful interludes by using
natural Latin materials such as Brazilian antique tiles and teak
furniture. The flooring was acquired from a sustainable source with
Italian Carrera Marble slabs to the floors and walls. The character
was enhanced further by the use of polished brass features State
of the art eco services were employed using an air to water recovery
system that produced 3 units of energy for every 1 unit used. This
new technology also incorporated a built-in cooling system which
reduced the temperature without the use of air-conditioning by utilising
the under floor heating circuit with additional fan coolers housed
in stone clad casings. The existing windows with teak openers had
a new bespoke secondary system installed to reduce thermal variations
and sound. |
